Flu Shot

Happy Thursday my Blogger friends!!

Finally logged in on my iPhone!! I've had this app since I got my phone last year but am just now getting around to trying out the app's I downloaded oh so long ago.

It's finally slowed way down at work. It's much slower them the same time last year... Not so good for me. Hope it picks up soon.

Today at work some of my co-workers were talking about the flu epidemic which has hit this country and many of them got the flu shot.

I didn't know that it had become an epidemic and that so many people have died.

I've always said that I would never get a flu shot!! But my co-workers had me a little nervous so after work I thought about it and decided to bite the bullet, be a big girl and get the shot.

Sooo, I ended up at Costco, which was closest to my house as well as the most affordable. Oh yeah, I don't have health insurance at this time.

After the shot the lady told me that I wouldn't be 100% immunized for 2 weeks?! Yikes, I'd better not get that nasty flu in the meantime!!! (knocking on wood)....

Yes, that picture below is me getting that flu shot!!! :/

Until next time.....

It's Tuesday.....

Hello Blogger friends.....

This month is just flying by!!  Didn't realize that it was already the 22nd of January?!  Huh... I still remember NYDay like it was yesterday!!

As usual I've been working, but I have also been working on my duplex.  I finally took down the Christmas tree and all of the decorations and started an early spring cleaning in between working.

I figure that the more I stay home and clean and purge the more money I'll save because I won't be out spending it.  LOL  And then, maybe, this year I can actually buy new furniture?!

Honestly, everything I have is from my former marriage.....and I've been divorced since 2005 :/  And, we got the furniture when we moved back in 2001.  Yeah, I'm thinking almost 12 years with the SAME old furniture is quite enough.

On top of that, last week the TV in my bedroom went out.  Well, the picture did.  I've had THAT TV since 1995.  Yes, seriously!!  I think it's a sign.......

I'm trying to make this year more productive than previous years.  Making my time count for something.  I've started up my Zumba classes again after the holidays (which I love) and yesterday finally started running again.  Did 3 miles.  It's a start.  I want to run another 5k this year and then try a 10k at some point.

In between all of that I've been to the movies several times.  I'm already up to 6 movies and January isn't even over yet!!  I think I saw about 42 movies in 2012 and I hope to see even more this year!

I'm also trying to make time for family and friends.  Usually on the holidays like MLK Day I am added to the schedule because we get busy.  Well, for whatever reason I wasn't added this year.  Instead of being upset about it like I would usually be, I made the most of it and made plans to visit some of my cousins yesterday.  We had a great day visiting, eating, and then going to the movies.

I have to say that I was asked if I wanted to pick up a shift yesterday at the last minute, and usually I would have said yes, but I had already made plans so I said no.......and didn't feel bad about it.  I finally realized after this passed year that all this working isn't going to matter if I don't stop and enjoy life once and a while.  I work very very hard and really have little to show for it..... I guess you could say by choice.

So, now I choose to enjoy my life.  I am trying not to waste so much money like I normally do, so that I can do other things besides just going to the movies.  Hopefully I will be successful in this endeavor.

Well, it's time to go,  Tuesdays are my only day I have a double shift between my 2 jobs.  So, enough's time for round 2.

Wishing everyone a great week!!  And, until next time..................

20 Days Straight

Happy New Year my Blogger friends....

Today I have completed my 20th straight day of working without a day off.

All I can say is.............

And, overly tired.
I purposely made absolutely NO plans for tomorrow.  The only thing I have to do is go to the bank, but otherwise I will just do whatever I feel like doing.  Which is probably nothing! haha
To be honest, I still make New Years Resolutions.  Who else does this??
I am still working on my list.  I have a basic list, but just fine tuning it.  Instead of generic things like exercise more or lose weight or travel more or whatever......I am making a specific list of things I want to accomplish this year.
I did this somewhat last year, but only accomplished 2 or 3 out of 10 things.  Actually, this was pretty good odds for me because usually I accomplish either 0 or 1.  This year I would like to be even more successful.
Last year I, yet again, allowed work to become my life.  On top of that, I didn't really plan ahead, kinda just living in the moment.  I've learned that this is a bad way to live.  I spent money wastefully and ended up not doing all that I wanted to do.
So, this year I want my life to have a little more meaning besides work.  So, I am trying to plan ahead and save money (ie not be so wasteful) so that I can have great memories to look back on.
My best memory from 2012 is going to Disneyland at Christmastime.  I've been there many times but only in the summertime.  This was my very first Christmas at Disneyland.  Originally my parents were also going, but a week before my dad fell off the ladder in the rain and fractured a rib.  I still went and visited my Uncle/Aunt/cousins and went with my cousins.
I had the best time!!  But wish my parents were able to go too....Happily, we're already making plans for this Christmas to all go.  I told my dad to stay off ladders!! lol
I was going to upload some pictures from my trip, but with this new layout I can't figure out how to upload the pics onto this post.  Oh well, guess that will have to wait til another day.......
This afternoon after work I went to the movies and saw Les Miserables which was an excellent movie...and the entire cast was brilliant!!
On Friday I went and saw The Impossible which was another excellent movie.  And, again, the entire cast was brilliant!
Well, that's all for now.  I need to eat before the new season of The Biggest Loser starts.  Even though I am kinda excited for Jillian Michaels to be back....I really like Dolvett Quince and hope they keep him on passed this season.  I actually like the idea of 3 different trainers....
Until next time......................
